Mission: GED Plus promotes empowerment of inner city youth through academic, legal, social, and career services. With support and guidance, the mitigating circumstances and poor choices that led to dropping out of high school are confronted and addressed. GED Plus provides a non-judgmental learning environment where students build confidence and self-reliance along with academic skills.

GED Plus Plus is a program for 16-24 year olds who have dropped out of school and want to earn a GED. The program emphasizes relationship building between staff and students, attainment of the GED credential, and goal setting beyond the GED. GED Plus Students are encouraged to question, listen and contribute in demonstrations, discussions, and group and individual activities.

GED Plus enables students to gain the GED credential as soon as possible after enrollment. The average enrollment is 3-6 months, although GED Plus has had students who completed the GED credential in just 2 weeks and several who have studied with us for two years. Since our founding in 1998, 165 students have graduated from GED Plus.

Three levels of Adult Basic Education and GED classes are offered in the mornings from 9:00am-12:00pm T, W, Th at Youth Opportunity Boston in Dudley Sq.. Multi-level GED classes are available in the afternoons from 1:00pm-4:00pm T, W, Th at Youth Opportunity Boston. In the evenings from 6:00pm-9:00pm M-Th at the Egleston Square YMCA, multi-level GED classes are held.
